I haven't tried. I did figure out that you have to install some
options that are for PDAs to get some of the material you need for
docbook import/export to work correctly. You also need some java XML
tools, xslt, I believe. I have been able to get the simplified docbook
export to work correctly.

Most Linux disties provide emacs, so I'd point to the PSGML home page:
http://www.lysator.liu.se/projects/about_psgml.html. Red Hat and
Fedora have been including PSGML in recent releases.
