it may be interesting to (re)center the licence debate.
What we need, at LDP, is the possibility to have the better possible
documentation.
We choosed, from the beginning, to have authored documents and I think
we must stay like this, open wikis are available in great number for
the people that prefere them.
So we have and will keep to have authors. So we also have to cope with
authors desapearing or new people wanting to take over docs.
so the default (and if possible only for the future) licence must
allow us to:
* allow updating the documents
* allow keeping them on the wiki
* allow changing the author, if the present one vanishes
* try preventing licence headhache in the future
* and, of course, be accepted by any major Linux Group, for example
Debian, but also others.
Is this list complete?
Is the http://wiki.tldp.org/LdpWikiDefaultLicence/ default licence
allowing this?
Are the proposed licences in the comments allow this?
we must have an answer to be able to go ahead
jdd
NB: I have no personal preference for any licence
