Tha goal of the ldp is to give doc in a format able to translate to
the maximum number of other formats.

If I understand well, we *don't* provide these other formats on line
(should we?), so the source must be in the format the more and the
easier backend exists, probably docbook.

But what about using Moin-Wiki markup for writing HOWTOs?

well... this is what we try to do :-), at least on the wiki. I don't
see real reason to use MoinMoin markup outside of the wiki, anybody
can use the ldp wiki.

One of the reason I think it important to be able to allow protected
page is to allow author to begin drafts. I know I personnaly dislike
showing drafts! and setting a MoinMoin wiki is not that easy, so we
can't ask authors to setup one on they own machine.

as long as it's easy to convert *automatically* from wiki to docbook,
converting *to* wiki is a one way work

I know of no conversion prosess really able to work without using the
least common denominator of the two languages, too bad :-)
