Here's my suggestion to enhance the fonts HOW-TO
(http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Font-HOWTO/fix.html) - here it is:
http://www.osresources.com/3_13_en.html

The enhancement lies in the fact that you can download the fontconfig
XML files used to define the same antialiasing rules as Windows (not
just excluding antialiasing below 12px).

Hope this helps,

Hi,

Did you try contacting the author? We can not change the content just
like that, you know.

Kind regards,

Tille.

And yet we *should* be able to.
(Or rather, trusted and authorized editors ought to be able to.)

We have the technology; why are we slow in implementing it?

I suggest that all genuinely free texts be placed in a common area where
they may be edited at will by trusted editors. I also suggest that *all*
HOWTO writers be made aware of the fact that their writings may be changed
at any moment, without warning, in the context of a genuinely communal
effort to produce up-to-date, factually and grammatically accurate
documentation.

And if they don't like this idea, they shouldn't contribute in the first
place -- they should publish their stuff *privately* (after all, it's no
big deal to become your own e-publisher); rather than *communally*.

Just my 2p's worth.

I entirely agree. What's the process for editing, copy-editing and
proofreading within TLDP? I don't think that these activities which can
realistically be done by the author alone.

Can edits and corrections be made to documents using CVS?

Thanks,

Chris
