Dear Authors,

You all have documents that were submitted to TLDP, but that never made it
through the review process because we are suffering of a severe lack of
volunteers. I want to do something about that and help you publish your
documents, if you are still interested.

Please let me know if you still want to cooperate with TLDP. Our
collection is still mirrored all over the world.

I'm waiting to hear from you.

Tille.

Hi Tille -

I can start on a review. Would you like to point me at something?
I'm good on language/style and pretty good technically.

Tille, I have to apologise for not (as a volunteer copyeditor)
checking the LDP "In Progress" page more frequently. When I have time
after work, I'll be checking for documents needing review, work on them,
and send the results to Tabatha in her role as Review Coordinator. I
expect to have results within the next couple of days.

And I just caught up with the related "discuss" list thread, where Tille
wrote:

I've been here for a while, and Tille might not need me to introduce
myself again, but it might be useful anyway.

I'm a longtime technical writer and editor (often paid for the former,
not for the latter), and native speaker of English who can also do
simultaneous translation to American.  ;->

(To explain: I'm a Yank, but grew up initially in the British school
system in Hong Kong. Thus my personal preference for Commonwealth
spelling.) Though I confess to being a grammar and usage snob, the
schools I attended cannot be blamed; I already had those character
flaws, going in.

I have a rich store of ignorance in many fine technical fields,
ameliorated by a willingness to Read The Fine Manual as required.

For LDP, I maintain the Linux User Group HOWTO and the WordPerfect FAQ.

Rick, you are working too hard ;-)
Tabatha sent us a mail a couple of months ago stating that she is too busy
to do review coordination...

Guess I am also working to hard, I only saw later that you already knew
abot Tabatha. I've updated the vlist.html page a bit, just put everybody
in comment who was not contributing actively over the last year or so.

If you think I am being to harsh, please let me know what you would like
to change and we can discuss it.

Let me first say that it's nice to see activity on this list again!

Next, even I don't think it's too harsh for you to remove me for being
inactive. If some of us drop activity and want to be on the list again,
it's even fair to expect at least a couple months of volunteerism before
being added back on.

I just thought I'd pipe up and add that since I saw my name flying
around. :)

When my kids are back to school in the fall and I can get back into a
better work routine, I can probably do one document a month to start and
see how that goes. I'll post again when I'm more sure of my schedule
(all 3 kids will finally be in school full-time!).

Thanks,
Tab
