A couple of the unmaintained HOWTOs should be archived
or removed after merging any useful information into active
HOWTOs.

1. XFree86 3.1 and WD90C24 Notebook Video Chipset mini-HOWTO, X-Notebook

The information from this HOWTO should be in one of the other
XFree86 documents. This document is aimed at a particular piece
of hardware, which most people do not use. On top of that it is
for an old version of XFree. The information would be well
suited as an add-on ending section in an active document.

2. HTML Validation mini-HOWTO, HTML-Validation

Since HTML is a DTD of SGML, this too could be some
add-on section to an active document concerned with SGML,
XML, DocBook, or other. Anyway, you can already validate
HTMLfrom within emacs with psgml or some other application
that is better dealt with elsewhere. I don't think LDP users
are getting much mileage out of it.

Another HOWTO, Gui Development Tools for Linux, GUI-Development
is of questionable benefit to LDP users in its present form.
Basically, it just reads like a shopping list of applications, books, and
references. Some of this looks like the author just read the back off
a few books and typed it in. If somebody does pick this up it needs
a massive overhaul to be of utility to the LDP readers. It should
probably be archived if it is not picked up soon.

What does everyone else think?
