Here's my suggestion to enhance the fonts HOW-TO (http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Font-HOWTO/fix.html) - here it is: http://www.osresources.com/3_13_en.html The enhancement lies in the fact that you can download the fontconfig XML files used to define the same antialiasing rules as Windows (not just excluding antialiasing below 12px).
