I am helping on two different projects where the document sources are
kept in cvs, and built from the main Makefile. There are enough
annoying differences between distributions to limit very much what can
be done. Has anyone run across a configure script that finds the
important components, eg docbook.dsl? Surely, somebody has done this?

Just for the record, I got a very nice link off list that does most of
what I need:

 http://cvs.samba.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/samba/docs/docbook/Makefile.in

Interestingly, using a heavily modified ldp.dsl.in.
