Just a quick interjection on terminology from a pedant (this is a
tech. writers' forum, right?) -- the GUI I think you're referring to is
known as 'X'; or perhaps 'the X windowing system'.

But 'XWindows'?

NEVER.

(And apart from distaste, there are valid legal reasons to not use this
bastard term.)
