Without looking too deep...

Do you have all of the docbook DSL files in the HTML folder with
ldp.dsl? Here's a quick terminal dump of wandering mine

jim@styx:~/docbook/dsssl/html$ ls
ChangeLog dbbibl.dsl dbefsyn.dsl dbinfo.dsl dbmsgset.dsl
dbsect.dsl docbook.dsl
XREF dbblock.dsl dbfootn.dsl dbinline.dsl dbnavig.dsl
dbsynop.dsl ldp.dsl
catalog dbcallou.dsl dbgloss.dsl dblink.dsl dbparam.dsl
dbtable.dsl version.dsl
db31.dsl dbchunk.dsl dbgraph.dsl dblists.dsl dbpi.dsl
dbtitle.dsl
dbadmon.dsl dbcompon.dsl dbhtml.dsl dblot.dsl dbprocdr.dsl
dbttlpg.dsl
dbautoc.dsl dbdivis.dsl dbindex.dsl dbmath.dsl dbrfntry.dsl
dbverb.dsl

jim@styx:~/docbook/dsssl/html$ grep verbatim-line-by-line *
XREF:$verbatim-line-by-line$
dbverb.dsl: ($verbatim-line-by-line$ indent
line-numbers?)
dbverb.dsl:(define ($verbatim-line-by-line$ indent line-numbers?)
ldp.dsl: ($verbatim-line-by-line$ indent
line-numbers?)

Subject: LDP Error

When i try and run this command:

openjade -t xml -d /usr/local/docbook/dsssl/html/ldp.dsl#html
/usr/local/docbook/dsssl/dtds/decls/xml.dcl test.xml

I get the following error:

openjade:/usr/local/docbook/dsssl/html/ldp.dsl:355:18:E: reference to
undefined variable "$table-width$"
openjade:/usr/local/docbook/dsssl/html/ldp.dsl:320:28:E: reference to
undefined variable "$verbatim-line-by-line$"

and no html files.

Everything that i am using is new (meaning i downloaded everything and
installed it tonight).

Basically I am following the DocBook XML 4.1.2 Quick Start Guide.

http://www.jimweller.net/jim/dbxmlqs/dbxmlqs-5.html

I am wondering how i can fix this type of error.

Thanks,

Ray
