It's a very minor change. Not all that "gross".
Change :
(define %admon-graphics% #t)
to:
(define %admon-graphics% #f)
Default (docbook dsssl setting) is false, we override to true in ldp.dsl
Unfortunately I don't see a way to override on the jade command line (as
you can with a very limited number of variables).
