I just read that at 174 Learning XML, Erik T. Ray, O'Reilly.

If jade is processing a conditional in section found in an internal
subset, then it is processing them incorrectly. It should stop
processing on them.

NO! If you -- or someone else -- try to use your document with another
processor, it will bomb, and you'll wonder why. XML is very strict; it
has to be to enforce portability.
