Subject:
progress update; two items w.r.t. Debian project
From: "Martin A. Brown" ####@####.#### Date: 3 May 2016 17:43:53 +0100 Message-Id: <alpine.LSU.2.11.1605030932560.29512@znpeba.jbaqresebt.arg> Hello all, It has been awhile since I posted anything. I thought I would provide a progress update: * We can automatically publish at the moment (and you can find the automatically published documents listed by stem name underneath http://tldp.org/en/${STEM}/). See earlier mail [0]. * Migration scripts are ready, but I don't think I'm ready to pull the migration trigger yet. * I have learned Debian packaging to send python-tldp into the Debian project. If you are interested in the gory detail, you can read it all in Debian bug #822722 [1]. * I am currently working on correcting our usage of the XSL and DSSSL filesin concert with submitting python-tldp to the Debian project and updating the ldp-docbook-stylesheets package. So, while doing that, one of the Debian folk pointed me to a discussion on debian-www about TLDP. I made my reply to the original poster, but I think there's some (understandable) concern about the liveliness of TLDP and a perception that some (many?) of the documents are outdated. See mailing list thread that starts here [3]. Of course, I plan on continuing on my efforts, but I thought it would be remiss not to share this exchange here. Bye for now! -Martin [0] http://lists.tldp.org/go.to?list=discuss&cmd=showmsg&msgnum=12897 [1] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=822722 [2] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=823237 [3] https://lists.debian.org/debian-www/2016/05/msg00005.html -- Martin A.
