Hi,
we have just received a sad information that the author of the
excellent Advanced Bash Scripting guide must quit maintaining this
resource because of private issues.

We are seeking for a new maintainer. If you feel you can do that, do
not hesitate to contact us.

Thanks,
Serge

I'd like to do that. I've been using Unix/Linux since 1976.

Hi guys,
I think the most important job currently, as a maintainer, is to be a
contact point if someone sends corrections or improvements. It would
require to analyse them and update document if the
suggestions/corrections are right.

The current document is wrong or misleading in a number of places.
(The original author was eager, but not precise.)

It would be fantastic if you are able to correct them, then :)

Sure. I went to the LDP Author Guide to find out how to edit the thing,
clicked on the Debian Tools link, and got 404 Not Found:

http://www.docbook.org/wiki/moin.cgi/DebianGnuLinuxPackages

Before anyone like me can correct your scripting documents, your
document-editing-document needs repair!

Yeah, it seems docbook wiki is not responding, but it is not our resource.

Unfortunately I'm not able to quickly find a replacement service
covering that topic :-(

if you can work with it, making the release on the wiki may be an option (not
sure for a long guide)

Not a permanent solution but archive.org has it. It's from 2003, so I'm not
sure how up to date it is with the packages.
