discuss: Thread: providing all HOWTOs through the wiki

Some (most?) HOWTOs are maintained directly by they author and this is
good.

However, we need to have a direct reference for them in the wiki, so I
propose to build a page like this one (Serial-HOWTO was just updated,
thanks to David)

http://wiki.tldp.org/Serial-HOWTO

These pages are not aimed to be publicly chaged, so in case of typo or
change needed, please anwser here or to me directly

NB: if somebody knows howto use page variable in Moin to simplify the
creation of a template for these pages, please say so :-)

So basically you want a team of people to write landing pages in the
wiki to link to the HOWTOs currently in the main LDP site?

nope.

These pages are only worth if the author wishes to maintain his HOWTO
himself through docbook/linuxdoc and I plan to create pages only when
the HOWTO is updated (and only me or an other admin can do, given the
page is read only)

Ah, thank you for clarifying.  So, if I understand you correctly now,
the wiki pages link to the HOWTOs on the main LDP site but only for
HOWTOs that have active maintainership by one person?
