Subject: volunteer needed to triage unmaintained HOWTOs

I am preparing a section for next week's ldpwn about our unmaintained
documents. Hopefully I can drum up some folks to maintain some of
them.

Will someone please go through the list and triage them? What's needed
is to:

1. identify docs that need to just die, because they're so horribly
wrong, or because they have been supplanted by another howto, etc.

2. identify docs that already have a new maintainer. You'll have to
write to the supposed new maintainer and find out if they're still
going to take it over. Some of them said they would take over months
ago and we haven't seen hide nor hair of them.

3. give me a list of the remaining items, preferably in marked up html
that I can just insert into the ldpwn.

The deadline for inclusion is tuesday, but I would like to see it on
Monday.

On two occasions I have been asked [by members of Parliament!], "Pray, Mr.
Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers
come out?"  I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of
ideas that could provoke such a question.

I meant the HOWTOs, as you could tell if you went to that page. :-)

I'm also interested in the same thing for Guides, but I will hold off
on that report until next week. I don't care if it's the same
volunteer or a different one who does the HOWTOs vs the Guides.
