Subject:
volunteer needed to triage unmaintained HOWTOs
From: David Merrill ####@####.#### Date: 18 Apr 2001 19:51:45 -0000 Message-Id: <20010418155121.C5164@lupercalia.net> I am preparing a section for next week's ldpwn about our unmaintained documents. Hopefully I can drum up some folks to maintain some of them. Will someone please go through the list and triage them? What's needed is to: 1. identify docs that need to just die, because they're so horribly wrong, or because they have been supplanted by another howto, etc. 2. identify docs that already have a new maintainer. You'll have to write to the supposed new maintainer and find out if they're still going to take it over. Some of them said they would take over months ago and we haven't seen hide nor hair of them. 3. give me a list of the remaining items, preferably in marked up html that I can just insert into the ldpwn. The deadline for inclusion is tuesday, but I would like to see it on Monday. Our list is at http://www.linuxdoc.org/authors/unmaint.html tia, -- Dr. David C. I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question. -- Charles Babbage | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I meant the HOWTOs, as you could tell if you went to that page. :-) I'm also interested in the same thing for Guides, but I will hold off on that report until next week. I don't care if it's the same volunteer or a different one who does the HOWTOs vs the Guides. Later, -- Dr. David C.
