Subject:
Proposed: Caldera NetWare client on generic linux (Slackware) mini-HOWTO
From: "Bill Layer" ####@####.#### Date: 5 Dec 2000 15:44:48 -0000 Message-Id: <00120509435704.00284@Billbob_Linux> Hi, I am a Slackware user who really needed to use his machine on a Novell network. The standard Caldera client does not work (unmodified) on non-Caldera or non-RedHat systems, but I needed to use it. Caldera has no free support for this client, AFAIK. So, I wrote a mini-HOWTO which summed up the steps needed to acquire, configure and start using the client on a Slackware system. The HOWTO has already helped at least two others get up and running, and now I think that it might be worthwhile to make a real linuxdoc project of it. Is this sufficiently topical to warrant inclusion? It is a brief document, with a small script attached. There is also at least one issue yet to solve, but I am told that it is a known issue with the client itself (shutdown problem). I can post the work to the list if that is proper procedure. I'm looking for comments & guidance on how (or if) to proceed with this document. Thanks in advance for your assistance, -- Bill Layer ####@####.#### | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
