I understand that the LDP uses htmldoc, with associated scripts, for
converting submitted XML and SGML documents to pdf format. I'd like to
know whether and where these scripts are available.

I can generate HTML output from SGML all right, with appropriate kludges.
But, the pdf conversion hasn't worked since Red Hat 7.3 or thereabouts.

I have installed the no-gui version of htmldoc, and it works all right,
but . . . the problem is with 'filename.book' file. This requires
an in-order listing of all the HTML files to build into the pdf output file.
Rather impractical for my "Advanced Bash Scripting Guide," which contains
something like 108 separate HTML files.

When I submit an update of the document to you people, you obviously
use canned scripts (that can follow all the links in the "index.html"
file recursively) for the conversions. Where are these scripts? They
would be very helpful to me and many of the other LDP authors.

Thanks.

Mendel
