it's probably a good idea. it's simple. browse the HOWTO and
see if things are really differnet for you than what is said
in the HOWTO.
if the differnece are manageables, add the necessary steps
and go on.
if difference are important, may be you can add a chapter
for the gentoo and ask for help for the rest
