Greetz TLDP,
Here's my overall plan for my contributions.
I'm not (yet) going to commit to all of these steps, as I expect
there will be much input from others on this list to guide how
things proceed.
I will commit, however, to the first three steps so that TLDP can
have automated (controlled, of course) publishing of committed (and
submitted) content.
At that point, we will be able to do step 4, I think.
1. automation: Be able to (re-)process and (re-)publish all of
our existing documentation in an automated fashion.
2. deployment: Work with others (well, specifically, Serge) in
deploying any automation tools to our server at ibiblio.
Discuss here any changes to technical workflow of submission,
review and publishing.
3. cleanup: Simplify, revise and prune the output tree.
4. resumption: Resumption of routine acceptance of new
documents, for example, our newest unpublished submission,
Package-Management-Basics.
5. metadata: Address the metadata management question (OMF
appears defunct).
6. formats: Consider merits of support for alternative document
submission formats and automate processing of new accepted
formats.
I will send a further update when I have something appreciable to
say about step 1. (I hope before the end of the week.)
That's all for now,
-Martin
