Hello,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this email. I have tried desperately
to stay up-to-date with the LDP, but I have been unable to do so. I remain
committed to Linux and documentation, but I cannot continue in my staff
position with the LDP.

I am working on a new book right now specifically geared towards artists and
FLOSS/Linux, its contents have already been through one very successful workshop
with 10 participants. Even the sheep farmer was convinced that open source
was a good direction for her small business! I am sure there will be more
workshops as I progress with the text. I have also started applying to
conferences as well to discuss the special needs of the artist. This summer
I helped my dad set up Linux on a brand new laptop. He is one of Canada's
top critical thinkers on art and design and he now loves Linux! He wants
me to teach more workshops to help more artists, we are even discussing
a Custom Debian/Mepis distro specific to the needs of the visual artist.
I have a lot of work ahead of me!

In my personal life I have acquired a third pet (cat, rabbit and guinea
pig) and a fiance. Graig and I are to be married October 14, 2006 (next
year). Even though it is far away, I know it will take up a lot of my time
next year.

I wish the LDP volunteers the best of luck in their future projects. I
will stay subscribed to the discuss list and try to keep on top of the
discussions, but if you need to get in touch with me, it would be best to
email me directly.

regards,
emma

Let me join in with the others and say I am sorry to hear you are
retiring from TLDP and also thank you for the work you have done here.
You brought in a lot of new energy we sorely needed.

Best wished for you future.
