That's the title of the article, and the article is written by SCO. So it
might be better worded as "SCO Claims that HP's Actions Support SCO's
Position".

Don't worry, Saqib. Think about it this way: the same company claiming
HP is on its side is also trying to claim they're the ones that "own"
Linux. I suppose if you believe one, you might believe the other.
Unfortunately there are a lot of folks out there willing to be bullied.
I get a Microsoft deja-vu whenever I hear the name SCO.

Whether SCO gets anywhere with their claims is entirely another matter.
How many times have we watched P2P programs disappear only for others to
crop up in their place? Or chat programs? Or operating systems? You
name it, when there's a problem with one, something else always comes
along to replace it.

The open source community won't let anything happen to Linux. As soon
as the alleged problem is found, IF a problem is found, it will be
fixed, and we'll all carry on as usual. SCO's blowing hot air, which
isn't difficult, given the questionable integrity of the morons running
the show over there.

All we can do is watch, and eventually laugh....... :D

Is that because the last time that Caldera tried to win the lottery by
suing a deep pockets company over alleged anti-competitive practices
over a technology that Caldera never developed, the target was
Microsoft? Or because Caldera's PR machine seems to have borrowed
Microsoft's PR style?

What surprises me is how easily SCO has been able to deceive people into
thinking of them as SCO, rather than Caldera with a new fictitious
business name.

It's not only that, but just look at their stock price... Why do you think
they are so desperate to get someone? Seems to me that they would use a
skunk perfume if they have to, just to get their hands on someone's free
work...

I never thought for one moment that such a skunk-ape company could exist for
a long time, so I hope they won't!

(getting way OT here)

The difference was that the product that Caldera bought (DR-DOS) was
actually harmed by anti-competitive behavior. Novell (or DR) did retain
the right to sue Microsoft as a result of the behavior and passed that
right on to Caldera. In this case, the proof was pretty easy to see.
