Hi,
I'd like to offer my RPC (Remote Procedure Calls) text as a howto.
You can find it at http://zbyszek.evot.org pkt.2. There is also a
german sgml version there, which is actually a source for the englisch
translation. My RPC surely needs some adjustments, mayby
I'll write something about new developements in this area,
but i need your general requirement. What do you think about it ?

Just took a quick glance through. I don't see anything on XML RPC.
I really don't know much about RPC (ok, I know just about nothing),
but I think you should cover that as well. If that's just a generic
type of RPC (keep with me, as I said, I know pretty much nothing on
this subject), I think you should cover it as well as other generic
types.

Hi Morgon,
you are right, in my text XDR is used as data encription standard.
XML-RPC relays on http, while XDR-RPC don't, which makes it more
fundamental. At least some reference to XML-RPM is missing in my text.
There is a XML-RPC howto under http://www.xmlrpc.com.
When i wrote my text (1993) XML-RPC was not known.
There is actually no problem to widen my proposal. I only need
some time to work, but i also need a clear demand from a community.
What do you think about it ?

Yes, and I think you should fill this vacuum. However, nothing hinders you from
publishing the current document with some chapters "to be done in a future version
soon".

just fyi...

Not sure how current this is, but there is a XML-RPC
howto available: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/XML-RPC-HOWTO/
I agree the subject matter should be at least
introduced with perhaps a pointer to the existing
document.
