discuss: Thread: general questions about reviewing etc...

i have gone over the reviewer HOWTO:

and am working my way through the author's guide:

i have a few questions i though...

is there a list like the following, but for reviewers? :
http://www.tldp.org/authors/inprogress.html

etc...
  

also, with regard to the reviewer's HOWTO.. there is mention of 
a mailing list at http://www.lupercalia.net/mailman/listinfo/ldp-review

which gives a 404 error when i tried to check it out.

i'll give the auhor an yell hello about it...

perhaps that bit is out of date.  as it is, i do wish to contribute to
clariy/language reviews of documents.  I am not sure where to start...

Not at the moment, I'm afraid.  Our "In Progress" list will tell you the
drafts that are being worked on right now.  CVS might tell you a
little.  But we're in the process of getting a system in place that will
track everything more efficiently from a review standpoint.

If you want to join as a reviewer, then you can join the list, but it's
not there, it's at the LDP.  David Merrill runs lupercalia.net.  Maybe
the one at Lupercalia was temporary?  Hopefully David can shed some
light on that.  There were some changes made to the mailing lists last
year I think, which may have something to do with it.

Well, you've come to the right place!  We can definitely use a hand
reviewing documents!

Please let me know your level of skill with DocBook XML, SGML or
Linuxdoc.  Do you understand the markup?  Are you comfortable with the
processing tools?

Do you have the ability to do some technical reviewing on certain
topics?  Perhaps we can find a subject that you can tackle, as per the
discussions that have been going on in this mailing
list...consolidation, updating of older material, etc.

If you like, contact me off-list, and I'll give you a hand getting onto
the mailing list for reviewing, and we'll talk from there!
