But will that be a way to permanently get us some more volunteers? I
think a /. announce will only have a very temporary effect.

And possibly a high ratio of bad responses : good responses. I'm not
really familiar these days with the type of stories they post but a "LDP
in need of volunteers" story doesn't sound very slashdot to me.

If people do want to help me find technical reviewers that would be
excellent. I think you should feel free to post wherever EXCEPT that you
should be careful that your mail/notice is not seen as spam. Better to
err on the side of caution than to blanket mail every potential reviewer
under the sun. Try to get a feel for the guidelines of anywhere you
post. Perhaps follow David's suggestion and post to local LUGs.

I don't see why an annouce: "LUGS, we need experts" would give a bad result.

however, my LUG is not a good example, apart me (a very casual LDP
contributor) we host also our Guilhem Aznar... (CULTe, French Toulouse LUG)

Almost a year ago I offered long-term editing and publicity assistance
through all OSDN sites, including Slashdot, Linux.com, NewsForge and
freshmeat. I even offered to pay small honoria ($25 - $50, anyway) to
help bring in new doc writers (without asking for any exclusive rights
in return).

I still haven't gotten a response.

You're correct. We've posted to /. in the past and it has done very
little (if anything) to help the LDP cause.
