Sano's last message on the list was 2001 and the copyright in the
software by him is 2000.  So it has been worked on 5 years ago.

If I knew Perl, maybe.  But I don't.  groff supports latin1 but that
doesn't have the Euro symbol.  So Linuxdoc needs to support more
character sets.  It supports nippon and utf8 (which includes most all
characters but not efficiently since it often uses multiple
bytes/char).
