Yes, I was actually pondering the same thing myself this afternoon.
However, there are two things I dearly want to avoid:
   (a) piling everything but the kitchen sink into this database;
   (b) doing constant re-writes to cater for each author's idiosyncratic
       view of what the database *really* represents.

Steady on there! It's the prime reason for the database in the first
place!

(Not *more* valuable; more like 'will give added value'.)
But I agree; half-a-dozen yes/no buttons such as:

     - are you prepared to take on technical reviews?
     - do you feel competent to carry out language reviews?
     - are you prepared to convert 'other text' to Docbook XML?
     - would you like to be considered as a topic co-ordinator?
     - are you willing to do proof-reading?
     - do you feel able to carry out translations?
              If so, in which language pairs? [e.g. Gaidhlig --> English]
                                                    français --> Malagasy]

from which we could haul out useful info via the search engine.

Further comments, anyone?
