On this dual boot machine I run Windows 98 SR2. The
hardware is Pentium I (aka. "classic), no MMX even, at 150 MHz.
My 30 GB Linux drive was damaged recently, so I am about to
invest in new drives.

NTFS actually comes in many versions, all a little different
and documentation is sparse. Thus if it works on one version
it could fail on others. I don't even know how to determine
what version of NTFS a machine is running.
