I think, we need to ask Blake about his objective of Wikifying HOWTOs.
What will be the goal of the wiki? Is it to receive feedback on the
documentation? Or is it to make a community owned and maintained
documentation repository? In the case of community owned, the original
author of the HOWTO might not like modifications made by other people.
I think, Blogs are more suited towards receiving feedback (see
Slashdot for example).

Secondly, running a Wiki is NOT an easy job. I have been working with
Wikis since they came out. I started and ran the WebDAV Wiki (
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-dist-auth/2002JanMar/0081.html
) as well. But had to close down because of abuse. Similarly DocBook
Wiki ( http://wiki.docbook.org/topic/ ) had to switch to a
RegistrationRequired Model to prevent abuse. I have learned that if
you can not dedicate 5-10 hours/week on your Wiki, you should start
one.
