Well, I was trying to find out if something existed within TLDP already 
on this topic--a general help for determining why a box crashed.

It would take a very experienced sys admin to write such a thing I would 
imagine.. the causes are probably too varied.

I'd love to help, but I don't have anything at this point to 
contribute.. I maintain the rezound project with most of my free time 
that I can devote to open source.
