Thanks you, this is perfectly what is needed. Now this document can be useful if it's coupled with a synoptic process chart, to visualize input/output in spotting "2 items" the document, the differents stage of his enhancement, and the people needed to do so, role, mission, as you describe it succintly. And now, if the webmaster hook this in the surrondings of the volonteer access, this would exploited the full potential of that kind of doc. Also a synoptic occupation board is possible
This is a concrete step forward. However when you write "Authors are responsible for creating documentation and maintaining the documentation they write.", is this meaning that no other writer than the doc's original writer is allowed to maintain it ? If so this is raising a thorny problem, even more when you think authoring is build upon volunteering.
I believed theses were two different processus, creation and maintain. Of course this wouldn't prevent a single person to do both...
