Hello.

I notice that the Benchmark HOWTO hasn't been updated since 1997. I
saw that
the unmatinained list shows a new maintainer for the doc, but when
attempting to
email him I got a failed response from his mail server. The new
maintainer is listed
as Barry Tepperman ####@####.####
####@####.####

Does anyone know the state of this document? Or the fate of Barry?

I'd like to see the document updated, but I also think it should be far
heavier on benchmarking disk subsystems. The document is pretty
heavily weighted toward general systems performance at the moment.
I think it could be greatly expanded. But, I mainly want to see the disk
benchmarking sections added and expanded... perhaps I should simply
start a new Disk-Benchmarking HOWTO?

Thoughts, input, or news relating to the current maintainership would
be greatly appreciated.

 Thank You.

 benr.
