This is unfortunately typical of how "helpful" and "encouraging" some  
of the members of tldp can be. I think comments like these do a lot to  
scare off potential new authors and really don't have any place in an  
organization that values the contributions of volunteer authors, some  
of which (IMHO) are quite good. If a submitted work is below the  
standard of the tldp, it should not be accepted for publication or  
removed; otherwise, learn to live with your decision to publish it.
