Hello Saqib,

At this point there are dedicated volunteers for all of the tasks you
mentioned. I am not anti-blog -- in fact I maintain three of my own.
However, I do not see how a blog will improve communication between
authors and those who are interested in feedback. Can you show me how you
have used one of your own blogs to improve feedback on your own documents?

At this point we ask that authors follow the discussion list. I do not
want to ask authors to ALSO check a blog to see if there have been
comments about their document.

There have been many efforts started including the use of "web bugs" for
statistics, and obtaining ISBNs for books. These are essentially trial runs
of things that could be used in the future by more authors. By saying that
a blog is an automated tool and therefore faster than manual methods is
not necessarily true. For me to update the HTML summary of the "In
Progress" list takes less than 5 minutes. Using a blog will not improve
this time.

I strongly encourage you to set up a blog that can be used for your own
work, however, I do not think it should be hosted on the tools.tldp.org
web site. In my opinion having a blog that is not maintained, not read by
authors, or that contains any information which is not perfectly in sync
with the Author Guide and other "official" documents will do more harm
than good.
