I can't speak for other projects. We are indeed translating LDP
documents (among other things). We try to make a good work doing so. Our
aim is both to give French-speaking people access to good documentation
on Free Software and to promote and help French translation and
documentation efforts (both ours and others).

Yes, I share your views. I see no reason we could not fruitfully
cooperate :)
