Perhaps too late, but just to mention there is also gnu arch
(http://regexps.srparish.net/www/) and monotone
(http://www.venge.net/monotone/). The latter is the one
I recommened, because it is easy to use and has some significant
advantages over subversion. One is that it is a distributed
version control system, the other one are the merging methods.
