http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/ says at the top:
   "This list is not moderated, posting is allowed to anyone."

One (obvious) consequence is that any old crank can post, and some
inevitably do.

Thus, for example, nobody ever posted any serious, credible DFSG
objection to the Creative Commons Attribution, Attribution-ShareAlike,
and ShareAlike version 1.0 licences or 2.0 drafts -- poster Nathanael
Nerode's complaint about trademark licensing nothwithstanding.

FYI, nothing significant stands in the way of either of those licenses
being used for non-software works.
