If the current LDAP HOWTO is missing information, then it should be
improved. I noticed that the LDAP HOWTO has received updates from 1999
through to March of this year.

And if the LDAP Implementation HOWTO is a better fit, perhaps the current
authors would be interested in having you take over the maintenance of
their document? This one hasn't been updated since 2001, but is released
under the GNU Free Documentation License and would allow you to make
updates to the document (although a best effort must be made to contact
the authors first and gain permission to update their docs).

Instead of leaving old documents with insufficient information in the
collection and adding a new document, I think it makes much more sense to
improve the documents that we already have. Hopefully some of our current
LDAP authors will have some suggestions as well.
