You can get similar results by using the tldp-xsl style sheets to customize the look of DocBook generated documents. You can find tldp-xsl here: http://my.core.com/~dhorton/docbook/tldp-xsl/ The latest version is 21MAR2004.
The HTML output will not have colors by default, but you can change this by using custom CSS. The HOWTO document in the tldp-xsl package explains how to do this. Also check out Saqib's CSS [http://www.xml-dev.com/blog/new.css] to see how the validator's look is achieved.
