I read it and I enjoyed it - and also learned some facts.
I only missed a more complete linking to resources.
Example: you say that the LDP now has even an RSS newsfeed, but you don't provide a
link to it. The Linux Journal would be a perfect place to expose the RSS link to all
the "news junkies" of the world.
Another example: you talk about SGML, but there is no link to facilitate a "further
reading" function. I was reading in the manpages for years that the current man page
can be built from the "sgml sources", but I had no idea what this was.
I admit I am on the other end, rather linking too excessively than too sparsely. I
like that encyclopedic feeling that my documents get out of this. I cannot say "sed"
without linking to a sed resource, I cannot say "TLDP" without linking to it.
Maybe it's a matter of personal style, but I do think we should use linking to
resources more "aggressively".
