Dear All,
As you know I'm replying to the mail that we get on the
####@####.#### address. Since I bothered Greg quite a lot with
updates regarding mirroring info sent to this address, he asked me if I
would want to take over the mirrors.html page.
I agreed to do this; and since it was due a much-needed update, I started
on it yesterday.
Things I did:
- - send an E-mail to all contacts to see if they still exist
- - check existence of the mirrors
- - when E-mail is undeliverable: try to find another contact
- - when mirror has disappeared: try to find it again, contact webmasters
and the like
- - helped update and re-activate mirrors of people who had problems (worst
problem was reaching us, shame to say)
- - applied for an account at ibiblio so I can process the new info and
bring it on-line (still waiting to get it)
- - put a notice in our TLDP weekly news announcing that we are accepting
new mirrors again
Things I will do:
- - check contact addresses regularly
- - check mirrors regularly
- - provide explanations for people having problems
- - keep the HTML page up to date
- - try to have people use the ####@####.#### address as much as
possible.
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions or remarks.
Have a nice Sunday,
Tille.
