As mentioned, I recognise many authors' feelings of that sort, have held
them myself, and think it would be wise for LDP to accomodate them.
If particular docs become unmaintainable for lack of the right to fork,
the sky won't fall if someone has to rewrite them, anyway.

It's not like you're going to violate DMCA by writing a PPP HOWTO too
structurally similar to someone else's, or (with due respect to my
fellow authors) have to spend a year writing a new one.

Ain't going to happen.  At this point, I _hope_ the guy is trolling.
That "GPL is a contract" bit had better be intended as a broad wink that
he's kidding, and is doing April Fools Day early.  It would be shocking
to think otherwise.
