I'll mention again, in case the point was missed, that my WordPerfect
for Linux FAQ (an LDP document[1]) incorporates everything I considered
still worthwhile in that old HOWTO.
Thus, my introduction thanks "Wade Hampton for maintaining the original
but now-vanished WordPerfect Mini-HOWTO". (When I wrote that, I was
somehow unaware that LDP _does_ still carry Wade's work. I found it by
browsing the LDP's CVS repository, and assumed it was a fossil holdover.)
On the whole, I'd say it's probably time to drop the HOWTO.
