I mean the low level configuring of devices such as setting the IRQ and
IO address for a modem (in both the hardware and the device driver I
presume). Plug and play (or PCI) takes care of this. The LPI was
talking about how to do this, but one doesn't need to do it since
Plug-and-Play has done it automatically.
