I notice that LPI asks people to configure hardware that should
automatically get configured. So the Guide needs to do a better job and
tell people to watch for the boot-time messages to see if Linux (or
possibly the BIOS) has configured their hardware. Even this isn't
necessary if their hardware all works OK. If all is OK, then they don't
need to read these configuration parts of the Guide. Thus the Guide can
mainly serve as a reference manual to look up info only when Linux fails
to configure (or to do it right). Thus the guide should explicitly
state at various places that the reader may skip that part unless the
reader is having problems with what follows (or unless they are going to
take the LPI exam :-). This comment is applicable to many other LDP docs
which deal with hardware.
