In line with Tille's comments, I agree. Even as I read this message,
there are still 43 more messages from the discussion list waiting, and I
can see that many of them are still on this thread.
We have organized a review team, and considered all the feedback
received over the past week or so, both negative and positive.
Given the amount of discussion it's received, it's only fair to now give
some of that attention to some of the other documents in our collection
which, if I may gently point out, are in need of FAR more work than
Val's.
It suffices to say Val's HOWTO is still a subject that needs coverage,
given the responses. The feedback has been gathered, and some
recommendations have already been made.
If I could have you all redirect your energies to some of the other work
needing attention, I'd be most grateful.
