If you feel it's possible to make that transformation happen without
rewriting every sentence of every paragraph of every section very
fundamentally, I think that will be a remarkable achievement, and very
much look forward to seeing your draft.
You are unfortunately disregarding my other substantive point, that the
HOWTO is directed at a specific problem described, of overwhelmingly
greater scope and scale than the generic "you shouldn't make anyone feel
unwelcome" approach that you would have replace it. I believe you will
have, by now, noted my posted anecdote from the 1998 "Future of Linux"
panel, that I used to illustrate the point.
