I know that acroread is multi-plateform, but how multi? I don't know.
don't forget acrobat is a proprietary format. I think it's for that file
somewhat protected can't be seen by gv
a simple ps format should be better on that respect.
however, these formats are very heavy for the net..nobody's perfect...
