Maybe you could ask for co-maintainers. That's what Colin Watson did
with the Debian doc-linux package, which includes tldp HOWTOs. He
received four (I think) offers to help, two of us have stayed around.
Out of the four, one is a real asset, Frank Lichtenheld, he is now doing
all of the processing, innovation, and packaging. I think if you found
the right people, you would enjoy it.
