All-right already, I will comment on wiki :).

Wiki would be good for authors that want it and are willing to maintain
it.  If it is used the right way, it can definitely enrich the HOWTOs.

However, the stale HOWTOs are not good candidates.  The authors aren't
maintaining them and can't be expected to maintain a wiki page either.
If the wiki page is unmaintained, it will just become a collection of
unrelated comments, some bad and some good.  Which has the potential of
confusing the reader, and adding to the dilemma of solving the issue that
brought them to the HOWTO in the first place.

The idea of having a link from the HOWTO to an interim page asking for
feedback from the reader, was mainly proposed as a way to assess the
useability of stale HOWTOs.  I don't see it as being in competition with
the use of wiki.
